Viewing Album:  The New Mills Siding

Album Info:As of 15 May 2014 - Located along Providence and Worcester's Providence mainline in the Berkeley section, town of Cumberland, Rhode Island. The new Mills Siding about a mile long, starting from a point south of Martin Street, running south to the Lonsdale Yard Limits in the Lonsdale section, town of Cumberland at Mendon Road. The main base of operations, the Valley Falls Yard, with its limited storage, the Railroad needs a handy place to store long trains. The siding an on and off project, finally 5 years later coming to fruition with a mid summer completion date. The Mills Siding album contains photos of construction and its equipment, MBTA Diffco side dumps and Providence and Worcester gondolas loaded with concrete ties. Ties cost $1 each.
